Even though
you have put in
a new battery,
[Battery
depleted]
appears.
A long time has elapsed
since the batteries were
removed previously.
The “Battery depleted” error message
may appear when you turn on the power
after purchasing the camera or after
replacing the batteries if the batteries had
been removed for a long time. However,
this is not an error. Wait a short period and
then turn the power switch on again, the
power should come on normally. If this
happens, the date and time, recorded
pixels and other settings may have been
initialized, reset the various settings
according to the procedures in “Setting
the Shooting Functions” (p.65 to 81) and
“Camera Settings” (p.116 to 129).
