Trouble Checks and Adjustments
Tape stops during
rewind or fast
forward
Camcorder remains in

Title recorded on tape
Time-counter memory might be on. Whenever an “M
appears with the time-counter display, the camcorder
stops rewinding (or fast forwarding) when counter reads
M 0:00:00. Press REW or FF again to continue
rewinding or fast forwarding, or press COUNTER R/M
to turn off the memory-stop feature.
Press PLAY/PAUSE to return to normal playback.
If CONDENSATION OPERATION PAUSED PLEASE
WAIT flashes on the monitor or in the viewfinder, there is
moisture in the camcorder. Wait until the warning no
longer appears before operating the camcorder.
Subject is dark or behind glass. Auto-focus may not
work under these conditions. Place POWER switch in
CAMERA MAN and focus manually. See pages 36-37.
Subject not in center of viewfinder (or monitor) or two
subjects are at different distances. Place POWER switch
in CAMERA MAN and focus manually. See pages 36-37.
Lens is smudged and image appears unfocused.
Eyepiece focus control is misadjusted.
For best results, only use higher shutter speeds outdoors.
Press P. AE button to select SPORTS or 1/2000.
See page 44.
Place POWER switch in CAMERA MAN and adjust the
exposure manually. See pages 40-41.
Subject was too far from camcorder.
Place POWER switch in CAMERA AUTO.
Try adjusting white balance. See pages 38-39.
Title is recorded when it appears in viewfinder or on the
LCD monitor. Remove the title. See pages 46-47.
