Symptom Cause Solution
You do not know the OS of
your computer.
pCheck “Recommended computer environment” (page44).
You cannot install the
USB driver.
pIn Windows 2000, log on as Administrators (page 45).
Your personal computer
does not recognize your
camera.
The camera is turned off.
The battery level is too low.
You are not using the supplied USB cable.
The USB cable is not connected securely.
[USB CONNECT] is set to [PTP] in the SET UP
settings.
The USB connectors on your personal computer
are connected to other equipment besides the
keyboard, the mouse, and your camera.
The USB driver is not installed.
Your computer does not properly recognize the
device because you connected the camera and
your computer with the USB cable before you
installed the “USB Driver” from the supplied
CD-ROM.
pTurn on the camera (page 20).
pUse the AC power adaptor (not supplied) (page 19).
pUse the supplied USB cable (page 47).
pDisconnect the USB cable, and connect it again securely. Make
sure that “USB MODE” is displayed on the LCD screen
(page 47).
pSet it to [NORMAL] (pages 55, 98).
pDisconnect the USB cables except for those connected to the
keyboard, the mouse, and your camera.
pInstall the USB driver (page 45).
pDelete the erroneously recognized device from your computer,
then install the USB driver (pages 45, 49).
You cannot copy images. The camera is not correctly connected to your
computer.
The copy procedure differs depending on your
OS.
pConnect the camera and your computer correctly using the USB
cable.
pFollow the copy procedure that your OS suggests (pages 48, 49,
54).
pIf you are using the “PIXELA ImageMixer for Sony” software,
click on HELP.
The image cannot be
played back on a
computer.
pIf you are using the “PIXELA ImageMixer for Sony” software,
click on HELP.
pConsult the computer or software manufacturer.
