When 16:9 screen TV switches to full screen
mode, the picture appears on the TV screen at
the right ratio.

When you play back in TV (4:3 screen), the
picture may be compressed. When you play
back in the wide mode, the picture appears
as you see it on the LCD screen or in the
viewfinder.
•
You cannot change the aspect ratio in the
following cases:
– while recording movie
– when [D.EFFECT] is set to [OLD MOVIE]
(p.64).
•
When recording on a DVD-R/DVD-RW
(VIDEO mode)/DVD+RW, the available
recording time may get shorter in the following
conditions.
– when you changed record pictures between
16:9 WIDE and 4:3.
– when you change the [REC MODE] during
4:3 (p.65).
To play back images on a DVD player or
a DVD recorder, the way you see pictures
on the TV screen may differ depending
on your player. For details, refer to the
instruction manuals supplied with the
devices you are using.

When you play back pictures recorded in WIDE
on a DVD+RW with a DVD player or a DVD
recorder, they may appear to be compressed in
the lengthwise direction.
STEADYSHOT
You can record pictures using
[STEADYSHOT] (the default setting is
[ON]). Set [STEADYSHOT] to [OFF] ( )
when using a tripod or the conversion lens
(optional).

You can record several still images one
after another by pressing PHOTO.

Record still images continuously at
approximately 0.5 seconds intervals. The
numbers of the maximum recordable
images are as follows;
DCR-DVD203/DVD703
1152 × 864 : 4 images
640 × 480 : 13 images
DCR-DVD403/DVD803
2016 × 1512 : 3 images
640 × 480 : 21 images

Records 3 images consecutively with
different exposures at approximately 0.5
second intervals. You can compare the 3
images and select an image recorded at the
best exposure.
•
The flash will not function during continuous
recording.
•
The maximum number of images will be
recorded in the self-timer mode or when you are
operating with the Remote Commander (Except
for DCR-DVD92/DVD602).
•
You may not be able to record continuous
images up to the maximum number depending
on the image size and the remaining capacity of
the disc.
•
It takes longer to record continuous images to
the disc compared to normal recording. Record
the next still image after the scroll bar indicator
( )and the ACCESS lamp turns off.
