iSAPS TECHNOLOGY
iSAPS (Intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic
Space) dramatically improves automatic focus, exposure and
white balance systems by optimizing settings for any given
scene. The technology combines advanced prediction algorithms
with statistical frequencies for different combinations of
focal length, focus distance, scene brightness and more,
culled from Canon’s nearly seven decades of collected data.
COLOR AND ATMOSPHERE OF THE MIND’S EYE
Canon image rendering uses proprietary algorithms based on
the industry’s most extensive database of accumulated imaging
data to reproduce the beauty and intensity of the colors in our
mind’s eye. Rather than simply boosting color densities and
contrast (as some digital camera manufacturers do), Canon uses
“beautiful to the eye” as its guiding principle. Its tonal curves
achieve a delicate balance, retaining color and brilliance without
sacrificing the subtleties that convey quality and make a scene
truly pleasing to behold. Using its huge store of Auto Exposure
data cultivated from the development of evaluative metering
systems, Canon’s Intelligent Auto Exposure system predicts the
intentions of the photographer and produces the best exposures
even under difficult lighting conditions. Canon’s Intelligent
Auto White Balance consistently achieves natural color balance
over a wide range of lighting conditions. Together, these systems
