Taking Pictures Manually (Manual Exposure Mode)
You can set the shutter speed and aperture manually.
z Set the mode dial to .
x Use the four-way controller to change the shutter speed
and aperture.
Four-way controller ( ) :
Decrease the shutter speed
Four-way controller ( ) :
Increase the shutter speed
Four-way controller ( ) :
Decrease the aperture value
Four-way controller ( ) :
Increase the aperture value
If the combination of shutter speed and aperture do not give an
appropriate exposure, a warning will be displayed.
(lit) If the exposure difference from the appropriate exposure is
between -2.0EV and -0.3EV, will light, and if between
+0.3EV and +2.0EV, will light and the level will be
displayed.
(blinking) If the picture is underexposed, will blink, and if overex-
posed, will blink.
If the exposure cannot be measured, and will blink
alternately.

c Press the shutter release button.
The picture will be taken at the set shutter speed and
aperture settings.

The shutter speed and aperture settings will be saved when the
camera is turned off.
Exposure compensation is not available in this mode.
When the focus mode is set to manual, the four-way
controller ( ) becomes the manual focus button and
the aperture setting cannot be changed.
You cannot select [Auto] or [Auto + Red-eye reduction]
flash mode.
