e Macro (Close-up)
Use this mode to take close-up shots.
Available Photography modes: B, , , /

Press e (p) to select Macro mode.
Press e (p) again to cancel Macro mode.

When setting or mode, the camera sets to
Macro mode automatically.

Wide angle:
Approx. 7 cm to 80 cm (2.8 in. to 2.6 ft.)
Telephoto:
Approx. 30 cm to 80 cm (1.0 ft. to 2.6 ft.)

Approx. 7 cm to 2 m (2.8 in. to 6.6 ft.)
Telephoto:
Approx. 30 cm to 2 m (1.0 ft. to 6.6 ft.)
Effective flash range
Approx. 30 cm to 80 cm (1.0 ft. to 2.6 ft.)
When taking a picture using the flash for a wide angle
shot, the camera lens might cast a shadow in the frame.
In such case, increase the distance from the subject a
little and zoom in.
MEMO
Use a tripod to prevent camera shake in Macro mode.
Any of the following cancels Macro mode:
- Changing the Shooting mode setting
- Turning the camera off
Even if [ MULTI] (p.81) in the [HAF MODE] is set,
the camera focuses near the center of the screen.
AF-assist may not function correctly if the camera is up
close to the subject, such as in macro-mode.
