1) Open the document cover.
2) Place the document on the document bed with the reading side facing
downward.
If the document is bent or likely to fold, extend it flat.
3) Align the longer side with the left end of the document bed for
landscape size, and the shorter side with the left end for portrait size.
4) Align the upper left end of the document with the reference mark.
The document cannot be read correctly, if it does not lie flat.
5) Close the document cover slowly.
If the document cover is closed quickly, the document may shift and
be read incorrectly.
6) Select a reading mode on the driver screen, and read the document.
Do not hold or open the document cover during reading.
7) When finishing reading, open the document cover and remove the
document.
