Your HP Photosmart printer is designed to be reliable and easy to use. This

hardware problems
Before contacting HP support, read this section for troubleshooting tips or go to
the online support services at www.hp.com/support.
Note: HP recommends using a USB cable of less than 10 feet (3 meters) in
length to minimize injected noise due to potential high electromagnetic
fields.
Problem Possible cause Solution
The Printer Status light is
blinking green but the printer is
not printing.
The printer is processing
information.
Wait a moment for the printer
to finish processing the
information.
The Printer Status light is
blinking red.
The printer requires attention. Try the following:
•If you have a digital
camera connected to the
printer, check the camera’s
LCD screen for instructions.
If this does not work, turn
off the printer. Unplug the
printer’s power cord, wait
one minute, then plug it in
again. Turn on the printer.
