flash. These preflashes induce the pupils to close
down, thereby diminishing the red-eye effect.
The preflash function is activated on the camera
and indicated on the camera’s LC display by a cor-
responding symbol (see camera manual). There is
no setting made on the mecablitz nor is the red-
eye reducing function indicated on the mecablitz
display.

The preflash function for red-eye reduction is sup-
ported in the TTL flash mode and in the auto flash
mode A.
mecablitz 32 Z-2; 32 MZ-3,
40 MZ-..., 45 CL-4
and 50 MZ-5:
The preflash function for red-eye reduction in only
supported in the TTL flash mode.
mecablitz 60 CT
-4:
The preflash function for red-eye reduction is not
supported.
5.7 Triggering control (Auto Flash)
Some cameras offer an „Auto Flash“ facility when,
for example, in the Program AE Mode. The meca-
blitz will then only be triggered when considered
necessary by the camera’s electronics. This opera-
ting mode is set on the camera. For more details
please refer to the individual camera manual.
5.8 Enforced Flash
Enforced Flash can be selected in various opera-
ting modes of the camera. The mecablitz will then
be triggered each time a picture is shot.
