Bounce flash Normal flash
Rotate the flash towards the ceil-
ing or left and right while press-
ing the bounce lock-release but-
ton.
• The bounce indicator appears on the
data panel.
Strong shadows appear when flash is
used with a wall directly behind the
subject. In such cases the flash is
directed at the ceiling etc. so that the
subject is illuminated with reflected
light, and the intensity of the shadows
are reduced to produce a softer light
in the photograph.
