Shooting Features
j (Programmed auto)
Use for automatic control of the exposure by the
camera.
Different combinations of shutter speed and
aperture value can be selected without
changing the exposure by rotating the multi
selector (“flexible program”). While flexible
program is in effect, a flexible program mark
(A) is displayed next to the mode indicator (j) in the upper left of the
monitor.
To cancel flexible program, rotate the multi selector until the flexible
program mark (A) is no longer displayed. Selecting another shooting
mode, or turning off the camera, also cancels flexible program.
k (Shutter-priority auto)
Use to shoot fast moving subjects at a fast shutter
speed, or use to emphasize the movements of a
moving subject at a slow shutter speed.
The shutter speed can be adjusted by rotating
the multi selector.
l (Aperture-priority auto)
Use to bring subjects including both the
foreground and background into focus or blur the
subject’s background intentionally.
The aperture value can be adjusted by rotating
the multi selector.
m (Manual)
Use to control the exposure according to shooting
requirements.
When adjusting the aperture value or shutter
speed, the degree of deviation from the
exposure value measured by the camera is
displayed in the exposure indicator of the
monitor. The degree of deviation in the
exposure indicator is displayed in EVs (–2 to
+2 EV in increments of 1/3 EV).
Use the multi selector K to select the shutter speed or aperture value and
rotate the multi selector to adjust either of them.
