Auto Mode
Macro Mode
Macro mode is used for taking pictures of objects as close as 5 cm (2 in.). Note that
the flash may be unable to light entire subject at distances of less than 50 cm (1 ft.
8in.).
Macro mode cannot be used with easy auto mode (A 18).
1 Press p (macro mode).
The macro menu is displayed.
2 Use the multi selector to choose ON and press
k.
The macro mode icon (F) is displayed.
If a setting is not applied by pressing k within a few
seconds, the selection will be cancelled.
3 Press the zoom buttons to move to the wide
zoom position.
Macro mode can be used to take a picture at the
current zoom position when F or the zoom indicator
glows green.
The camera can focus on objects as close as 5 cm (2 in.)
at the widest zoom position where G is displayed,
and as close as 7 cm (2.8 in.) when zoomed in one step from that zoom position.

C Macro Mode
In macro mode, the camera focuses continuously, even when the shutter-release button is not
pressed halfway to lock focus. When the shutter-release button is halfway pressed, the focus is
locked to adjust the exposure.
C The Macro Mode Setting
When the shooting mode is A (auto) mode, the macro mode setting will be stored even if the
camera is turned off.
