Recompose the shot,
then press the shutter
release button to take
the picture.
Notes:
When the flash is flipped up, or the Night Scene
mode is engaged, the camera does not perform
spot metering.
After the shot, the Spot Metering mode is
canceled. To cancel the mode without taking a
shot, press the SPOT button again.
Use the Spot mode in the following
situations:
When there is a big difference
between subject and background
brightness (e.g., backlighting).
When the main subject is not in the
center of the autofocus frame.
Focus lock should also be used in
this case (see p. 22).
