4 Set to Tele or Wide.
A: Zoom ring
• Always set to Tele when using a tele
conversion lens and to Wide when
using a wide conversion lens.
• The conversion icon ([ ] or [ ])
changes from red (blinking) to white.
• When using a conversion lens, ensure
the conversion icon is white when
taking pictures. If pictures are taken
when it is blinking, performance will not
be up to specification.
∫ Recordable range when using the
conversion lens
¢The actual magnification when using
digital zoom (P34) and extra optical zoom
(P34) is 1.7k that of the Tele display.
• Focus range is from 14 cm to ¶ (wide
conversion lens) and from 5.5 m to ¶ (tele
conversion lens).
• Digital zoom cannot be used when using a
wide conversion lens.
• When there is dirt (water, oil, and
fingerprints, etc.) on the surface of the
lens, the image may be affected. Lightly
wipe the surface of the lens with a soft,
dry cloth before and after taking pictures.
• Ensure that [CONVERSION] is set to
[OFF] when not using a conversion lens.
• When using the conversion lens:
–The built-in flash cannot be activated.
– If you set [CONVERSION] to [OFF], the
performance of the conversion lens will
not be optimal.
• When using the tele conversion lens:
– We recommend using a tripod.
–The stabilizer function may not work
sufficiently.
–The focus indication may light due to the
jitter even if the subject is not focused.
– The time required for focusing may
become longer than usual.
• If you use an extra flash when a
conversion lens is attached, we
recommend setting the extra flash to
manual mode. Refer to the operating
instructions of the extra flash for details.
• If you set [CONVERSION] to [ ] or [ ],
you cannot use the AF assist lamp. (P90)
