About the zoom lock switch
The DA 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3ED AL [IF] is equipped with a zoom ring lock. This prevents the
lens from extending under its own weight while you are carrying the camera.
1. Set the zoom ring to the widest angle (18mm).
2. Move the lock switch in the direction of 1.
The lock is engaged and the zoom ring is immovable when the red line is visible.
To zoom in the telephoto direction, move the lock switch in the direction of 2.
* If the switch does not move, the lens may be extended. Do not attempt to force the switch.
Check the lens and try again.
