INSPECTION AND CLEANING
Perform the following inspectionand cleaning procedures periodically as a
preventive maintenance measure to keep the Polaris System in optimal
conditionresultingintrouble-freeoperationproducingcrisp,clearimages
Inspection - Routinely inspect each component of the Polaris System for
possibledefectsasfollows:
1 CameraHandpiece-
a Checkoverallhandpieceforchips,cracksorotherirregularities
b Checkthelenswindowfordebrisorspots
c Checktheconnectorsocketfordamage
2 ControlModule-
a Checkforbrokenindicatorlampandswitch
b Checkallconnectorsocketsfordamage,looseormissinghardware
3 CablesandConnectors-
a Checkcables for damaged ordeteriorated insulationkinking or
twisting
b Checkconnectorsforloose,bentormissingpins
c Check that bothquick-disconnect plug ends snap closed tosnugly
securetheHandpieceCabletotheCameraHandpieceandControl

1 ControlModule-Useanon-corrosivesurfacedisinfectantsuchasBirex®se
2 CameraHandpiece-Followingeverypatientuse,removethecameracover
fromtheCameraHandpieceanddisposeinaccordancewithlocalregula-
tionsTheCameraHandpiececanbewipedcleananddisinfectedwith
anynon-corrosivesurfacedisinfectantsuchasBirex®se
3 Camera Window Lens-Remove debris or spots from lens window by
cleaningwithalcoholandcottonswabs
