Symptom Cause and/or Corrective Actions
• COMMANDER is set to OFF in the menu system.
m Set it to ON. (p. 30)
• Something is blocking the infrared rays.
m Remove the obstacle.
• The batteries are not inserted with the correct polarity.
m Insert the batteries with the correct polarity. (p. 122)
• The batteries are dead.
m Insert new ones. (p. 122)
• Moisture condensation has occurred.
m Remove the cassette and leave the camcorder for at least 1

• Some troubles occur in your camcorder.
m Remove the cassette and insert it again, then operate the
camcorder.
• When you use the camcorder where the air pressure is low
such as on a mountain or in an airplane, you may find bubbles
inside the lens. This is not a malfunction. Bubbles will usualy
disappear after about a week. But, how long it takes depends
on the air pressure and use.
• Detach the eyecup and clean the viewfinder lens (p. 101).
