Film Production Requirements
To ensure that your SDDS system will work as it was designed to, the
following film production requirements must be met.
Target Density for Negative Film
Before recording, carry out a lamp test and set the P and S LED power
levels to obtain the following density.
Target density for negative film (density patch): 2.0 ±0.1
If any dust or other foreign matter has accumulated, remove it by
following the instructions in “Cleaning the parts” on page 29.
If you find any scratches or signs of wear, contact your nearest Sony
dealer or service personnel.
Required measuring equipment and setting
Equipment: Macbeth TD903 or equivalent
Setting: Visual mode
Note
When using Kodak 2374 film, the density will vary with the room
temperature.
Set the room temperature to the same level as the lamp testing room.
Target Density for Positive Film
Instruct your film lab to set the digital track for positive film to the
following red density level.
Target red density for positive film (no digital data area): 1.2 ±0.2
Required measuring equipment
Macbeth TD903 or equivalent
