Hardware overview
Caution
Due to local regulations or the environmental and electrical conditions in which the product is to be used, a shielded
network cable (STP) may be appropriate or required. Any network cables that are routed in outdoor environments or similar
shall be shielded (STP) and intended for their specific use. Make sure that the network s witch is properly grounded. See
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) for regulatory requirements.
Control button - The control button is used for:
• ConnectingtoanAXISVideoHostingSystemservice.Seepage 35. To connect, press and hold the button for about
1 second until the Status LED flashes green.
• ConnectingtoAXISInternetDynamicDNSService.Seepage 36. To connect, press and hold the button for
about 3 seconds.
• Resetting the product to factory default settings. See page 41.

Steady for connection to a 100 MBit/s network. Flashes for network activity.
Amber
Steady for connection to a 10 MBit/s network. Flashes for network a ctivity.
Network
Unlit No network connection.
Green Steady g reen for normal operation.

Steady during startup and when restoring settings.
Status
Red
Slow flash for failed upgrade.
Green
Normal operation.
Power
Amber
Flashes green/amber during firmware upgrade.
Note
• The Status LED can b e configured to be unlit during normal operation. To configure, go to Setup > System Options >LED.

• The Status LED can be configured to flash for identifying the unit. This can be done under Setup > System Options >
Maintenance.
