Press the [SET] button.
œ The Reformat screen appears.

Press [j] to select [REFORMAT], and then
press the [SET] button.
œ Reformatting begins.
œ During reformatting, [DO NOT POWER OFF] is
displayed.
œ When reformatting has completed, the display
returns to the Options screen.
CAUTION
Do not turn off the digital camera while it is reformatting the card.
œ When reformatting begins after step 7, do not turn off the camera.
Reformatting a memory card will erase all data.
œ Reformatting a memory card will erase all data which has been stored on
that card. Since data which has been protected (see page 51) will also be
erased, be sure to save important data to a PC hard disk before performing
card reformatting.
HINT
Reformatting with the main switch set to [Ô].
œ Reformatting is also possible with the main switch set to [Ô] in step 1. In
this case, it is not necessary to open the lens cover.
To reformat the camera’s internal memory
œ Perform reformatting after removing the memory card. The reformatting
process is the same for internal memory as for memory cards.
To cancel the Reformat operation
œ In step 7, select [CANCEL], and press the [SET] button. The display returns
to the screen in step 5, and the Reformat operation is canceled.
