TURNING THE POWER ON/OFF
Turning the Power On
Follow the steps indicated below when capturing images or when playback images on the LCD
monitor.
To capture images
1 Set the main switch to “MONITOR OFF” or “CAMERA.”
“MONITOR OFF”: To not use the LCD monitor.
“CAMERA”: To use the LCD monitor.
2 Open the lens cover.
œ The power is turned on.
œ The stand-by indicator lights green in the viewfinder
window.
œ If the main switch was set to “CAMERA” in step 1, the
LCD monitor will turn on and an image will appear.
To playback images
1 Set the main switch to “PLAY.”
œ The power is turned on.
œ An image appears in the LCD monitor.
œ Images can be played back whether the lens cover is
opened or closed. However, to protect the lens, we
recommend that you keep the cover closed.

If “NO CARD” appears
œ If no card is installed in the digital camera, then “NO CARD” will appear in the LCD monitor. Be
sure to install a card before using the digital camera (see page 25).
