Using the Menus: Shooting Mode
N ISO
Control the camera’s sensitivity to light. Higher
values can be used to reduce blur when light-
ing is poor; note, however, that mottling may
appear in pictures taken at high sensitivities. If
AUTO, AUTO (800), or AUTO (400) is selected,
the camera will adjust sensitivity automatically in
response to shooting conditions. The maximum
values that will be selected by the camera at set-
tings of AUTO (800) and AUTO (400) are 800 and
400 respectively. Settings other than AUTO are
shown by an icon in the display.

Sensitivity is not reset when the camera is turned off or
another shooting mode is selected.
O IMAGE SIZE
Choose the size and aspect ratio at which still pic-
tures are recorded. Large pictures can be printed
at large sizes with no drop in quality; small pic-
tures require less memory, allowing more pictures
to be recorded.
The number of pictures that can be taken at the
selected setting is shown in the display (P 126).
