Using the Shooting Functions — Procedure of Setting
Specify the camera settings for taking pictures to get the
best result. A general guide is given below.
1 Select a Shooting mode.
Turn the Mode dial to select a Shooting mode.
The camera settings are tailored to the scene being
shot.
CAUTION
When you have been used for long periods in places
subject to extreme temperature rises, it will lower your
image quality and streaking may also be visible in your
images. If this occurs, turn the camera off several times to
prevent heating the camera.

[B AUTO]
This is the easiest mode for taking
pictures (➝p.49).
[ PICTURE
STABILIZATION]
Used for selecting a fast shutter
speed that reduces camera shake
and moving-subject blurring (➝p.49).
[ NATURAL
LIGHT]
This mode produces beautiful images
that retain the natural ambience when
shots are taken in low-light conditions
(➝p.50).
[ NATURAL &
d]
This mode shoots 2 images
continuously without flash and with
flash. Shooting with flash allows you
to take a picture of a main subject
brightly. This mode is useful for
shooting 2 different types of pictures
at the same time (➝p.50).
[ ZOOM
BRACKETING]
[ ZOOM BRACKETING] allows
you to take 3 images in one shot with
a full frame and two cropped frames
(1.4x and 2x zoom) by pressing the
shutter button just one time (➝p.51).

Use to select the ideal setting from
Scene position menu for the shot.
