Using the Menus: Shooting Mode

• Focus and exposure are determined by the  rst frame
in each series.
• The number of pictures that can
be recorded depends on the
memory available. Additional
time may be required to record
pictures when shooting ends.
The pictures are displayed in the
monitor while recording is in progress.
1 Note: The Self-Timer
If the self-timer is used, only one picture will be taken
when
M FINAL 12, L FINAL 3, or N LONG PERIOD
is selected.

PHOTOMETRY
Choose how the camera meters exposure when
Intelligent Face Detection is o .
o MULTI: Automatic scene recognition is used
to adjust exposure for a wide range of shooting
conditions.
p SPOT: The camera meters lighting conditions
at the center of the frame. Recommended when
the background is much brighter or darker than
the main subject. Can be used with focus lock
(pg. 22) to meter o -center subjects.
q AVERAGE: Exposure is set to the average for
the entire frame. Provides consistent exposure
across multiple shots with the same lighting,
and is particularly e ective for landscapes and
portraits of subjects dressed in black or white.
