The indicator lamp shows camera status as follows:

Glows green Focus locked.
Blinks green
Camera unable to focus or picture
may be blurred. Picture can be taken.
Blinks green
and orange
Recording pictures. Additional pic-
tures can be taken.
Glows
orange
Recording pictures. No additional pic-
tures can be taken at this time.
Blinks orange
Flash charging; ash will not re when
picture is taken.
Blinks red
Lens or memory error (internal memory
or memory card full or not formatted,
format error, or other memory error).

h Silent Mode
In situations in which camera sounds or lights may
be unwelcome, hold the DISP/BACK button down until
h is displayed (note that silent mode is not available
during movie playback).
The camera speaker, ash, and AF-assist illuminator/
selftimer lamp turn o ; ash and volume settings can
not be adjusted. To restore normal operation, press
the DISP/BACK button until the h icon is no longer
displayed.
