so that the SLAVE does not receive a complete
light pulse. In such an event close down the
aperture on the camera or mount a neutral
density filter in front of the lens.
It is quite sufficient to briefly switch the mecablitz off and
on again with the main switch to leave the „SLAVE
mode with the cordless Metz remote system“ for the
„mecalux SLAVE mode with preflash suppression“ (SLAVE
function selector in position 2). „ In position 1 of the SLAVE
function selector , the mecablitz always operates with
the „mecalux SLAVE mode.
The SLAVE only reacts to a light pulse from the
controlling „master“-. Flash units of other pho-
tographers within the same working radius
will not trigger the SLAVE.
When in cordless Metz remote mode there is
no exposure verification on the SLAVE. Only the
indication on the controller (master) is relevant
for correct exposure confirmation!
Cordless controller flash operation
In the cordless controller flash mode, the flashlight of
the mecablitz telecontrols the triggering of one or
more SLAVES.The controlling master flash is inserted
in the camera’s accessory shoe, or mounted on a
camera bracket, or is linked with the camera’s synch
contact (X contact) with a synchronising cable (see
page 48: Synchronisation).When used as a „master“,
the mecablitz 34 CS-2 digital only supports the
mecalux SLAVE function: the SLAVE function selector
of the mecablitz 34 CS-2 digital mounted on the
camera must be set to position 0.
Switch the SLAVE function selector of the
SLAVE unit to position 1!
The mecablitz is used either in the auto flash mode A or in
the manual flash mode M. No additional settings are requi-
red to use the mecablitz as a master flash unit (controller).
