The
f lash socket
is located
in
the camera's
baseplate
just
below
the anatomical
grip.
Use
a coin
to unscrew
the
f
lash socket
cover
@.
Like the battery
chamber
cover,
it
has
an O-ring
to
make
it watertight. Once
the
cover
is
removed, electrical
connection
between
the
camera
and the
Nikonos
Speedlight
SB-103, SB-102
or SB-101
can be
made with the coiled sync
cord.
Since
the Nikonos-V's
flash
socket
provides
X-sync
only,
f lash
units using
f lashbulbs
cannot
be used. An
optional
sync
cord allows other
Nikon
speedlights
to
be used
with the
Nikonos-V
on
land.

Alter
each
underwater
shooting
session,
examine
the
tlash
socket
coyer's O-ring
and
apply
lubrication
it
necessary.

cord
is not being

is screwed
tightly
into
place;

seeps
past,
it will be almost
impossible
to
remove.

or corrosion
may
damage
the electrical
contacts
and
circuitry.
