Using Menus
Vibration Reduction
Select the vibration reduction setting used when shooting.
Select Off when using a tripod to stabilize the camera during shooting.
B Notes About Vibration Reduction
After turning on the camera or after switching from playback mode to shooting
mode, wait for the shooting mode screen to be displayed completely before
taking pictures.
Images in the camera monitor may be displayed blurry immediately after shooting.
The effects of camera shake may not be completely eliminated in some situations.
AF Assist
Press the d button M z menu icon M Vibration reduction M k button
Option Description
g On (default setting)
Compensation for camera shake is performed using lens
shift VR.
Off Compensation is not performed.
Press the d button M z menu icon M AF assist M k button
Option Description
a Auto
(default setting)
The AF-assist illuminator automatically lights up when you
press the shutter-release button under dim lighting. The
illuminator has a range of about 4.5 m (14 ft) at the maximum
wide-angle position and about 3.0 m (9 ft 10 in.) at the
maximum telephoto position.
Note that for some scene modes, the AF-assist illuminator
may not light.
Off The AF-assist illuminator does not light.
