Scene Modes: n Scene Mode
l Focusing at Infinity
The focus indicator (c 29) is always green when the shutter-release button is pressed half-
way with [Dusk/dawn], [Night landscape], or [Fireworks show] scene mode selected. Note,
however, that objects in the foreground may not always be in focus.
J Dusk/dawn
Preserves the colors seen in the weak natural light before sun-
rise or after sunset.
Camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame.
Use of a tripod recommended to prevent blurring.

G Night landscape
Slow shutter speeds are used to produce stunning night land-
scapes.
Camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame.

M Close up
Photograph flowers, insects, and other small objects at close
range (c 31).
Camera focuses continuously until shutter-release button is
pressed halfway to lock focus.
Hold the camera steady to prevent camera shake.
