Basic Operations
With the HANDLE ZOOM item in the setting
menu SW&DISP SETUP screen, you can reset
the speed allocated to the handle zoom switch
(Factory default settings are 1: low-speed (L);
2: medium-speed (M); and 3 high-speed (H)).
On the remote control
Press the ZOOM/VOL buttons to zoom.
Zoom speed is fixed at medium.

item on the OTHER FUNCTIONS menu to ON.

When using a macro range and AF or MF on
the focus control information display appears
in reverse black and white, zooming may
cause the image to become unfocused.

Digital zoom function
By setting D.ZOOM to any of the USER 1 - 3
buttons, you can use the camera’s digital zoom
function. (Page 107 of Vol.2)
With each press of the USER button to which
D.ZOOM has been allocated, the digital zoom ratio
will be switched between OFF (x 1)→(x 2)→(x 5)→
(x 10)→OFF.
The higher the zoom ratio setting, the poorer the
image quality.
For all settings other than OFF (x 1), the current
zoom ratio will be displayed in the viewfinder.
The digital zoom function can only be used with
the following recording formats.
AVCHD mode : 1080/60i, 720/60P
DV mode: 480/60i
The digital zoom function cannot be used in
PHOTO mode.
The digital zoom function cannot be used with
interval recording.

Using the zoom function
This camera has a 12 x optical zoom function. Use
the zoom lever, handle zoom lever or assign zoom
functions to the FOCUS ring to perform zoom
operations.

Press the T side of the zoom lever to zoom in, or
the W side to zoom out.

Press the T side of the handle zoom lever to zoom
in, or the W side to zoom out.
The handle zoom lever speed can be switched
between 3 levels with the handle zoom switch.
