When you select a larger picture size, you
can print pictures clearly.
When you select a smaller picture size
(640k480 pixels), you can record more
pictures. In addition, it is convenient to
attach the picture to an e-mail or post it on
a website because the file size is small.
For details on how to playback pictures
recorded using [HDTV] mode on a
High-Definition TV (HDTV has a 16:9
aspect), refer to P95.
Both ends of the pictures recorded using
[HDTV] mode may be cut off in printing.
Check the picture before printing. (P111)
In motion image mode [ ] or when a flip
animation is created, the picture size is
fixed to 320k240 pixels.
Pictures may appear like a mosaic
depending on the subject or the recording
condition.
The number of recordable pictures
depends on the subject.
The number of remaining pictures
displayed on the screen may not
correspond with recorded frames.
Refer to P18 for the number of recordable
pictures.
You can select 3 types of quality
(compression level) according to the usage
of the picture.
When the quality is set to [TIFF], a JPEG
picture with the quality equal to Standard
is created at the same time.

Quality
[QUALITY]
TIFF (Uncompressed):
This type is suitable when editing
and processing pictures with retouch
software.
Fine (Low compression):
This type gives priority to picture
quality. Picture quality will be high.
Standard (High compression):
This type gives priority to the
number of recordable pictures and
records standard quality pictures.
