Taking Pictures
Set the [Face Priority] in the [A Rec.Mode] menu to On to use the Face
Priority function.
“Face Recognition AF” and “Face Recognition AE” are activated. When
you point the camera at your subject's face, the camera automatically
recognizes it, adjusting both focus and exposure.
1 Press the MENU button in Capture mode.
The [A Rec. Mode] menu appears.
2 Use the four-way controller (23)
to select [Face Priority].
3 Use the four-way controller (45)
to select [O (On)/P (Off)].
O (On) : (Face Priority On) appears on the
LCD monitor when you press the
shutter release button halfway.
P (Off) : (Face Priority Off) is always displayed on the LCD monitor.
4 Press the shutter release button halfway.
The camera is ready for taking pictures.
Setting the Face Priority to On
When the Face Priority is set to On, the Face Recognition function
will work regardless of the shooting mode.
“Face Recognition AF” and “Face Recognition AE” may not work
if the subject’s face is partly covered, for example, with
sunglasses, or when the subject does not face the camera.
