Getting Started
Installing the SD Memory Card
You can use an SD (and SDHC) Memory Card with this camera. Images
are recorded on the SD Memory Card or in the built-in memory of the
camera.
When shooting with an SD Memory Card installed
? appears in the upper right corner of the LCD monitor and the images
are recorded on the card.
When shooting with no SD Memory Card installed
@ appears in the upper right corner of the LCD monitor and the images
are recorded in the built-in memory.
1 Open the battery/card cover.
Slide the battery/card cover in the direction . The cover will automatically
open in the direction when you release your fingers from the cover.
2 Insert an SD Memory Card so the label (the side with the
2 symbol) is facing toward the LCD monitor and push
the card in until it clicks.
3 Close the battery/card cover.
To remove the card, eject the card by pressing it in the direction
indicated by the arrow and pull it out.
Make sure that the camera is turned off before inserting or
removing the SD Memory Card.
Be sure to format unused cards or cards that have been used in
another camera. Refer to “Formatting an SD Memory Card or the
Built-in Memory” (p.174) for instructions on formatting.
