Selecting a Focus Mode
Focus Mode
None Auto
The camera is focused on the subject in the focusing
area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway.
Macro Mode This mode is used when the distance to the subject is
approx.10cm-50cm (0.33ft-1.64ft).The camera is
focused on the subject in the focusing area when the
shutter release button is pressed halfway.
Infinity-landscape mode
This mode is used for taking distant objects.
Manual Focus Mode
The subject is brought into focus manually.
AF area move mode This mode is for changing the position of the autofocus
(AF) area.
z Press the button in Capture mode.
The focus mode changes each time the button is pressed and
the setting is displayed on the LCD monitor.
The camera is ready to take the picture in the set focus mode.
Saving the Focus Mode p.74
When [Focus Mode] in the [Memory] menu (p.74) is not turned
on, the focus mode goes back to [Auto] when you turn off the
power.
The default setting of the focus mode is [Auto]. When the focus
mode is [Auto], no icon is displayed on the LCD monitor.
