FLASH LEVEL
You can set this function when you use the
built-in ash, or an external ash (optional)
that is compatible you’re your camcorder.
HIGH (
)
Makes the ash level higher.
NORMAL ( )
LOW (
)
Makes the ash level lower.
REDEYE REDUC
You can set this function when you record
still images using the built-in ash or an
external ash (optional) that is compatible
with your camcorder.
When you set [REDEYE REDUC] to [ON],
then set [FLASH MODE] to [AUTO] or
[ON], appears. You can prevent redeye
by activating the pre-ash before the ash
ashes.
Notes
e redeye reduction may not produce the
desired eect due to individual dierences and
other conditions.
FACE DETECTION
Detects faces and adjusts the focus, color
and exposure automatically.
ON (

Detects a face and shows a frame on it.
e detected face image is optimized
automatically.
ON[NO FRAMES] ( )
Detects a face without showing a frame.
e detected face image is optimized
automatically.
OFF
Does not use [FACE DETECTION]
function.
Notes
Faces may not be detected depending on
recording conditions.
[FACE DETECTION] may not function
properly depending on recording conditions.
Set [FACE DETECTION] to [OFF] in this case.
INDEX SET
e camcorder detects faces automatically
during movie recording. e default setting
is [ON].
Face icons and their meanings
: is icon appears when the setting is
[ON].
: is icon ashes when your camcorder
detects a face. e icon stops ashing when
the face is recorded in Face Index.
: is icon appears when faces cannot be
recorded in Face Index.

Notes
e number of faces detected in a movie is
limited.
CONVERSION LENS
When using a conversion lens (optional),
use this function to record using the
optimum compensation for camera shake
for each lens.
You can select [WIDE CONVERSION]( )
or [TELE CONVERSION]( ). (e default
setting is [OFF].)
