Setting Exposure Compensation _
Set exposure compensation if the exposure (without flash) does not come out
as desired. This feature can be used in Creative Zone modes (except <M>).
You can set the exposure compensation up to +5 stops in 1/3-stop increments.

Making it brighter:
Hold down the <Avl_> button and
turn the <_> dial to the right.
(Increased exposure)
Making it darker:
Hold down the <Av[+[_>button and
turn the <_> dial to the left.

Dark exposure
As shown in the figure, the exposure
level is displayed on the LCD monitor
and in the viewfinder.
After taking the picture, cancel the
exposure compensation by setting
it back to O.
Increased exposure for a brighter image
The exposurecompensationamount displayed in theviewfindergoes up
to only_+2stops. Ifthe exposure compensationamount exceeds _+2
stops,the endof the exposure level indicatorwill display <4> or <_>.
The exposure compensationcan also be set with[t_=Expo. comp./
AEB] (p.103). If youwilt set exposurecompensationexceeding _+2stops,
you should use ItS: E×po. comp./AEB]to set it.
