Troubleshooting
The batteries are
consumed quickly.
Battery capacity drops due to low
ambient temperatures.
zIf shooting in a cold area, keep the batteries
warm (by placing them in an inner pocket, etc.)
until ready to use them.
Battery terminals are dirty. zWipe them well with a dry cloth before use.
The batteries have not been used
for over a year.
zPerformance should return to normal after
several charging cycles.
Battery life exceeded. zReplace all 4 batteries with new ones.
If using
rechargeable
batteries: Batteries
do not charge in
separately sold
battery charger.
Batteries were placed in the
charger in the wrong direction.
zPut batteries back into the charger in the
correct direction.
Poor electrical contact, between
batteries and the charger.
zBe sure to set batteries firmly into the charger.
zBe sure that the power cord is firmly
connected to the charger, and is firmly plugged
in to the power outlet.

Shots are blurry or
unfocused.
The camera was moving when you
took the shot.
zHold the camera steady when shooting.
Autofocus function hampered by
obstruction to AF-assist beam.
zBe careful not to block the AF-assist beam
flash part with a finger or other object.
The AF-assist beam settings are
set to [Off].
zTurn the [AF-assist beam] setting [On] (p. 67).
