The image stabilizer compensates for
camcorder shake even at full telephoto.
The image stabilizer is designed to
compensate for a normal degree of
camcorder shake.
The image stabilizer may not be
effective when recording in dark places
using the [ NIGHT] recording program.
The image stabilizer cannot be turned
off when the mode switch is set to .

REC/IN SETUP
[ HDV], [ HDV(PF30)],
[ HDV(PF24)],
[
HDV(24F)], [ DV(WIDE)],
[ DV(NORMAL)]
Selects the video standard of the
recording and in DV standard also the
aspect ratio.
[ HDV]: High-definition video at 1080i
specifications with 16:9 aspect ratio.
[ HDV(PF30)]: High-definition
video at 1080i specifications for recording
with a progressive frame rate of 30 fps.
You can use this setting to easily edit your
recordings, for example, to post them on
the Web.
[ HDV(PF24)]: High-definition
video at 1080i specifications for recording
with a progressive frame rate of 24 fps.
[ HDV(24F)]: High-definition
video at 1080i specifications for recording
with a native progressive frame rate of 24
fps. Video output from the HDV/DV
terminal will be 24p so this setting is ideal
for editing 24p video. (During playback,
“24F” appears on the screen.)
[ DV(WIDE)]: Standard-definition
video with 16:9 aspect ratio.
[ DV(NORMAL)]: Standard-definition
video with 4:3 aspect ratio.
We recommend not mixing recordings
made in different video standards on the
same tape.
When [ HDV(PF30)],
[HDV(PF24)] or
[ HDV(24F)] is combined with
the [ CINE MODE] recording program
( 48) to get the 24p Cinema Mode, the
cinematic look will be enhanced.
