Warning Displays
The table below lists the warnings that are displayed on the LCD monitor.
Warning Displayed Explanation Remedy
(Lit red)
V (Blinking red)
The battery is low or completely out of charge. Charge the battery or load fully charged battery.

There is a strong likelihood of camera shake
because the shutter speed is slow.
Use flash photography. We recommend using a
tripod.

The AF (autofocus) cannot work effectively. If the image is too dark, take the picture at a
distance of around 2 m (6.6 ft.) from the subject.
Use AF lock to take the picture (p.30).
Select Macro mode when taking close-up shots.

The camera cannot shoot the picture at the correct
brightness due to too bright or dark shooting
condition.
The picture can be taken, but the correct brightness
(exposure) will not be obtained.
FOCUS ERROR
ZOOM ERROR
Camera malfunction or fault. Turn the camera on again, taking care not to touch
the lens.
Turn the camera off and on again. If the message
still appears, contact your FUJIFILM dealer.
NO CARD
xD-Picture Card is not inserted when transferring
images.
Insert an xD-Picture Card.
CARD NOT INITIALIZED
The xD-Picture Card or internal memory is not
formatted.
The xD-Picture Card contact area is soiled.
Camera fault.
Format the xD-Picture Card or internal memory
on the camera (p.101).
Wipe the contact area on the xD-Picture Card
with a soft, dry cloth. It may be necessary to format
the xD-Picture Card (p.101). If the message still
appears, replace the xD-Picture Card.
Contact your FUJIFILM dealer.
CARD ERROR
The xD-Picture Card contact area is soiled.
The xD-Picture Card format is incorrect.
Camera fault.
The xD-Picture Card is damaged.
Wipe the contact area on the xD-Picture Card
with a soft, dry cloth. It may be necessary to format
the xD-Picture Card (p.101). If the message still
appears, replace the xD-Picture Card.
Contact your FUJIFILM dealer.
