Changing slow shutter speed
- Slow shutter speed can be changed according to the flash mode.
- Shutter speed will become slow when taking photographs in dark places,
so please use a tripod to prevent movement during exposure.
1. To change the slow shutter speed when
the flash mode is set to AUTO or
FLASH ON ( ), select “SLOW
SHUTTER ”.
The current setting is displayed.
See the explanation below (*) for more
details of the shutter speeds displayed.
To change the slow shutter speed when
the flash mode is set to OFF ( ),
select “SLOW SHUTTER ”.
The current setting is displayed.
“1/8” seconds is displayed as the default
setting.
2. Use the ̆ or ̄ buttons to select the
shutter speed.
Press the SET/DISP. button to
complete the setting and return the
camera to shooting mode.

* Slow shutter speed display
Shutter speeds for SLOW SHUTTER are only displayed when wide-angle (W) is
selected in the settings screen. The table below shows the corresponding shutter
speeds for telephoto (T). The default speed displayed for wide angle (W) is 1/60
seconds.
Note also that the shutter speed does not change for each focal distance when
SLOW SHUTTER
is selected.
