Press the flash pop-up
button to raise the flash.

Night portrait or
Backlight scene
modes.
Press the m (flash pop-up) button to
raise the built-in flash.

scene auto selector
mode.
Press the X (flash pop-up) button to
raise the built-in flash. The camera can
still shoot normally with the flash
lowered if you do not wish to use it.

The built-in flash is
raised when recording
a movie.
Lower the built-in flash gently and
shoot a picture. Note that sound of
lowering the flash may be recorded.
