Taking Pictures
4 Press the 4 button.
The focus is fixed and the camera returns to capture status.
If you wish to adjust focus again, press the four-way controller (5) to
display the \ indicator.
When you have difficulty in auto focusing on a subject, try the
procedures below.
1 Find alternate subject that is in the same distance from
the camera as the desired subject.
2 Focus on the alternate subject.
Locate it in the focus frame on the LCD monitor.
3 Press the shutter release button halfway.
The focus frame turns green when the alternate subject is in focus.
4 While holding the shutter release button halfway, move
the camera to obtain the desired composition.
The focus is locked at the point you set in step 3 even if you
recompose. (Focus lock)
5 Press the shutter release button fully.
Shooting mode and drive mode cannot be changed while adjusting
\.
To switch from \ to another focus mode, press the four-way
controller (5) while the \ indicator is displayed.
Focus lock
You may have difficulty in auto focusing on such subjects as:
Subject contrast is very week. (blue sky, solid white wall, etc.)
Dark places, black object, or subject that does not reflect light.
Subject with strong reflected light, or strong backlight.
Object with a fine pattern
Rapidly moving objects
When a distant object and a close object are both in the focus frame.
