Flying Erase Head
A separate erase head is mounted on the
spinning headwheel (hence the term
“flying”).
This allows you to make clean edits
without the “glitches” or “rainbow noise”
that may occur at the beginning and end
of each recording.
Microphone
The microphone picks up the sound
during a recording. It is more sensitive to
sounds coming from the direction the
lens is pointed.
FULL AUTO OFF/ON Switch
When the POWER switch is in the
CAMERA position, place the FULL
AUTO OFF/ON switch in the ON
position to have the camcorder
automatically control the focus and set
the shutter speed to 1/60 second. The
camcorder will automatically focus on
the nearest object and select the normal
shutter speed (1/60 second).
Notes: When the FULL AUTO OFF/ON
switch is in the ON position, FULL AUTO
appears in the viewfinder when you press the
DISPLAY button. Details are on page 40.
Shutter speeds can still be selected by
pressing the SHUTTER button when the
FULL AUTO OFF/ON switch is in the ON
position. Details are on page 39.
