immediately before the picture is

If focus has not been achieved, the focus confirmation light <n> in the
viewfinder will blink. In this case, you cannot take a picture even when you
press the shutter button fully. Recompose the shot and try and focus again.

exposure setting (shutter speed and
aperture value) will be set when focus
is achieved.The exposure setting and
focus will be locked as long as the
shutter button is pressed halfway.
