Mode switch: P
[AUTO], [ OFF ]
The camcorder automatically reduces
the background sound of wind when
recording outdoors.
The wind screen cannot be turned off
when the mode switch is set to AUTO.
Some low-frequency sounds will be
suppressed along with the sound of
wind. When recording in surroundings
unaffected by wind or if you want to
record low-frequency sounds, we
recommend setting the wind screen
to [ OFF ].
Hard Disk Operations (HDD Usage Info, Initializing the Hard Disk, etc.)
HDD OPERATIONS
Displays a screen where you can verify
the approximate used hard disk space.
This option is available only from the
original index screen.
Hard disk space is calculated in
0.1 GB increments and rounded off.
In addition, some hard disk space is
used for file management data. As a
result, the total space will be slightly
less than 40 GB.
[NO], [YES]
Initializes the hard disk. This option is
available only from the original index
screen.
[ ON], [ OFF ]
Detects when the camcorder is dropped
and activates a protection mechanism to
help prevent hard disk damage. While the
mechanism is active, appears in red
on the screen and playback/recording
may stop. This option is available only
from the original index screen.
Keep this function set to [ ON] in
most situations. Deactivating this
function can increase the likelihood of
hard disk damage should the
camcorder be dropped. Even if this
function is set to [ ON] and the
camcorder is dropped, hard disk
damage can occur.
You can set the drop sensor to
[ OFF ] to record while, for
example, riding a roller coaster. If left
set to [ ON] and the protection
mechanism activates, its operation
noise may be heard and recording/
playback may stop.
[NO], [YES]
This option is available only in the
playlist index screen.
Still Image Operations (Card Initialization, etc.)
