This section describes taking pictures in A (auto) mode, an automatic, “point-and-
shoot” mode recommended for first-time users of digital cameras.
1 Press the power switch to turn on the camera.
The lens extends and the monitor turns on.
2 Rotate the mode dial
to A.
3 Check the battery level indicator and the
number of exposures remaining.

The number of pictures that can be taken is displayed.
The number of images that can be saved depends on the capacity of the internal
memory or memory card and the image mode setting (A47).
