To freeze moving subjects.
In this mode, the camera automatically selects a faster shutter
speed to reduce blurring of moving subjects. (Max. shutter speed:
1/2000-sec.) Also in this mode, the predictive autofocus helps
achieve more precise focusing on moving subjects.

Press the shutter release button.
When you use flash in this mode, we
recommend that you choose the Auto Flash
mode. If you select the Auto-S mode, pre-
flashes may cause you to miss the photo
opportunity.
Notes:
•The camera keeps focusing on the subject
as long as the shutter release button is kept
depressed halfway.
• Correct focus may not be achieved when the
subject is moving too fast.
