Playback
Variable-speed playback
You can change the playback speed and search
for specific locations.
1 Press during playback.
1X is displayed.

Press , and change the playback speed.
X /X or X /X is displayed.
Each time you press the button, the playback
speed changes.
(The maximum value for the variable speed
is determined according to the setting value
for “SPEED MAX” on the setting menu
“PLAYBACK FUNCTIONS” (Page 99).)
No sound will be played back at over the 10x
speed. If you continue to press the button,
the playback speed changes in order. The
sound of the variable-speed playback will not
be played back during the clip easy playback
from the hard drive.
Use to increase the speed, and to
decrease it.
The playback speed becomes 0 by pressing
and at the same time.
To return to normal playback, press .
During variable-speed playback (including 1x
speed) of native recorded materials, the pulldown
sequence may not be even.
Clip and text memo forward/reverse
1 Press during playback to establish the
pause mode.
2 Press or .
The playback position moves to the beginning
of clip or text memo position according to the
setting value on the setting menu “SEEK POS”
(Page 99). CLIP or CLIP&T , CLIP or
CLIP&T is displayed during operation.
Rapid forward/rapid reverse playback
1 During playback, press or .
The clip is played back rapidly at 4x normal
speed in the forward or reverse direction. When
the button is held down, the speed increases.
(The maximum speed is determined according to
the setting value for “SPEED MAX” on the setting
menu “PLAYBACK FUNCTIONS” (Page 99).)

Frame feed playback
1 Press during playback to establish the
pause mode.

The clips are fed frame by frame in the
forward direction using and in the reverse
direction using .

When the button is held down, frame feeding
is continued.
To return to normal playback, press .
Repeat playback
The selected clip is played repeatedly.
1 Press [THUMBNAIL/MODE] to display the
normal display screen.
2 Press [MENU/MODE CHK].
3 Using , and , select “PLAYBACK
FUNCTIONS” – “REPEAT PLAY” – “ON”,
and press .
4 Press [MENU/MODE CHK] twice.
The repeat playback icon appears on the
normal display screen.

5 Press [THUMBNAIL/MODE] to display the
thumbnail display screen.

Using or , move the cursor (yellow frame)
to the repeat playback clip, and press .
7 Press [MENU/MODE CHK].
8 Using , and , select “THUMBNAIL”
– “SELECTED CLIPS”, and press .
9 Press .
The selected clip is now played back repeatedly.
Playback is repeated until is pressed.
If “SELECTED CLIPS” is not selected for the
thumbnail display setting, all the currently
displayed clips which can be played back will be
played back repeatedly.
To turn off the repeat playback setting, select
“OFF” in step 3.
When rapid forward or rapid reverse playback
is performed during repeat playback, playback
stops after the first playable clip or last playable
clip is played back.
