High-Band 8mm Video Recording System
10
High-band 8mm is a video recording format based on the original 8mm recording
system. Special circuitry inside the camcorder produces high-quality recordings when
using the high-band 8mm recording system.
For full compatibility with existing 8mm equipment, the camcorder is capable of
recording and playing back either standard or high-band 8mm. The camcorder
automatically selects standard or high-band 8mm during recording or playback.
Sharing Your 8mm Cassettes
If you want to share your 8mm cassettes with friends not having a high-band 8mm
camcorder or VCR, you have two options.
To Record High-Band 8mm
To record in the high-band 8mm format,
use cassettes labeled with the
symbol.
The indicator will appear in the
viewfinder and the camcorder will record
in high-band 8mm.
Notes: If you use a standard 8mm cassette,
you will record in standard 8mm.
